The amendment to certain articles of the Trademark Act was passed by the Legislative Yuan on May 9^th during its plenary sitting, which has attracted significant attention from the public.  The amendments include the introduction of an accelerated examination mechanism, which can flexibly respond to the immediate needs of domestic enterprises for obtaining registered trademarks; the establishment of a trademark agent management system also ensures the rights and interests of trademark applicants, and is an important part of promoting the protection of intellectual property rights in our country; additionally, the amendments clarify that the “Nominative Fair Use” does not constitute infringement, which helps to unify the principles of judicial practice.
