In order to comply with the amendments to “Enforcement Rules of the Patent Act” and “Regulations Governing the Determination of Patent Term Extension”, as well as the implement of the XML serialization of WIPO ST. 26 standards, and to timely respond to the needs of examination practice, TIPO has reviewed the content of each chapter of “Patent Examination Guidelines”, added examination principles and precautions, and made necessary revisions to improve “Patent Examination Guidelines”.
 
TIPO has amended “Patent Examination Guidelines”, Part II: Substantive Examination for Invention Patents, Chapters 1, 3-5, 10, 11, 14 and Part V: Invalidation Examination, which effective from July 1, 2023.
