He mainly assists international clients in handling patent-related matters, including prosecution, patent search, responding to examination opinions, patent validity analysis, invalidation action, infringement assessment, designing around, third-party observation, freedom-to-operate analysis, etc. As an experienced patent attorney, Tommy quickly and efficiently solves clients’ problems as they arise. He also prepared opinions regarding possible patent infringements as well as validity of patents for leading international companies in his capacity as a patent attorney. In addition, Tommy has had broad exposure to a wide range of issues with respect to designs and provided analysis and strategic planning for clients seeking to secure design patent rights in Taiwan and China. He also actively participates in the Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TWPAA) and Asian Patent Attorneys Association. Prior to pursuing a career in Intellectual Property, Tommy worked at CTCI Corporation as an engineer, mainly responsible for planning refineries, petrochemical plants, power plants, waste incineration plants, and designing equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and furnaces.
